密苏里铅矿石是目前美国国内唯一的正被开采并被加工成其他产品的钴资源。利用这一资源可以由国内满足美国对战略性紧缺物资钴的需要量的20%,这是一个最好的短期解决方法。但目前该矿石中的钴被作为Cu、Pb和Zn精矿中的杂质以及损失于尾矿中。本文阐述了在实际选厂条件下的连续流程中从铜精矿中回收钴所遇到的问题、解决这些问题的各种方法以及在目前的限制条件下回收钴的最有效方法。为使选矿厂易于适应而采取了浮选法。在最好的情况下,若给矿中Co含量超过0.8%,钴回收率可达80%以上,钴品位为8.2%的指标。但通常给矿中钴低于0.4%,平均回收率指标可达60%,钴品位为2.0%。
Missouri bauxite is the only cobalt resource currently being mined and processed into other products in the United States. The use of this resource can be achieved domestically at 20% of the United States’ demand for cobalt, a materially scarce substance, which is one of the best short-term solutions. However, cobalt in the ore is currently used as an impurity in Cu, Pb and Zn concentrates and lost in the tailings. This article describes the problems encountered in the recovery of cobalt from copper concentrates in a continuous process in actual plant selection, the various ways to deal with these problems, and the most efficient way to recover cobalt under the current limitations. The flotation method was adopted to make dressing plants easy to adapt. In the best case, if the cobalt content in the ore exceeds 0.8%, the recovery rate of cobalt will reach more than 80% and the cobalt grade will be 8.2%. However, cobalt is usually less than 0.4% of the ore, the average recovery rate of up to 60%, cobalt grade of 2.0%.
