年逾九旬的姜维朴先生是新中国连环画的奠基人之一。他曾任上海《华东画报》主编,1953年调到人民美术出版社,担任刚成立的连环画册编辑室的副主任,后任室主任。在他的主持下,先后出版了《水浒》、《岳飞传》、《杨家将》、《志愿军英雄画库》、《我要读书》、《穷棒子扭转乾坤》、《王贵与李香香》、《漳河水》、《英雄村》、《青年近卫军》、《钢铁是怎样炼成的》等深受广大群众喜爱的作品。连环画册编辑室成立十年间共出版连环画册一千四百余种,印刷一亿余册。这些作品影响了新中国整整一代人。文革开始后,姜维朴成为被批斗的对象,两年后再次回到连环画工作岗位。1971年,周恩来总理主持召开出版工作会议,说现在孩子们没有书刊,任务紧急啊!姜维朴感到身上的担子很
Mr. Jiang Weipu, who is over ninety years old, is one of the founders of the new China comic strip. He was the editor-in-chief of the East China Pictorial in Shanghai and transferred to the People’s Fine Arts Publishing House in 1953 as deputy director and then director of the comic book editorial office which was just established.
