血管平滑肌细胞的增殖在动脉粥样硬化的发生发展及球囊血管成形术后再狭窄的发生中发挥非常关键的作用。相反,心肌梗死等心肌损害后,心肌细胞的增殖则往往不足以补偿损害所造成的心肌细胞丧失。因此,减少动脉粥样硬化时血管平滑肌细胞的增殖及促进缺血性心脏病时心肌细胞的增殖,将是治疗心血管疾病的理想方法。同源盒基因(homeobox gene)Mesoderm homeobox2(Meox2)对心脏的胚胎发育具有重要的调控功能,在成年期某些病理情况下Meox2对血管平滑肌细胞及心肌细胞仍有调控功能。现就Meox2对心血管系统的调控作一综述。
