《月牙儿》是老舍早期批判现实主义小说,极富其幽默讽刺特色,沙博理译本是其唯一英译本。该文通过分析实例发现,沙博理通过灵活运用多种翻译技巧和策略,使得原文在内容、情感、尤其是批判力传达方面达到与原文最大程度对等。其译文体现了老舍小说批判力力透纸背、掷地有声的特点,同时对于中国小说英译中批判力传达有极大借鉴启示价值。
“Crescent Moon” is Lao She’s early criticism of realism novels, very rich in his humor satirical features, Shabo Li translation is the only English translation. By analyzing the examples, Shapiro found that by using a variety of translation techniques and tactics, Shapiro made the original text reach the maximum equivalence with the original in content, emotion, especially critical communication. Its translation embodies the characteristics of the critical force of Lao She ’s novels in passing through the paper and throwing sound at the same time. At the same time, it has a great reference value for the critical communication in the translation of Chinese novels.
