崂山素有“海上名山第一”的美誉,位处山东半岛东部,高越千余仞,周广数百里,雄峙海隅,被推为我国近海诸山之冠。崂山与有“东方瑞士”之称的青岛相得而益彰,到青岛必游崂山。崂山茶自明朝黄宗昌始修的《崂山志》中就有记载:“(茶)深山时有之,味淡以清,惜山民不知采摘、烘焙之法,故不能与龙井齐名”。崂山茶天然品质可见一斑。而今,崂山波光云影之中,竹林松涛之间,依山傍海的是一丛丛低矮连绵的茶树。碧海蓝天,山茶葱茏,这是中国茶产区不多见的别致风景。当代崂山茶发展自上个世纪50年代开始,历经近十年时间,崂山茶人克服了冬天既旱又冻、寒旱两害的困难,才将南方茶树在北方驯化成功,但到80年代末崂山茶园面积仅有2000多亩。为促进崂山茶规模的扩大和品质的提升,崂山区不断加大政策引导力度,大力推广龙头企业+农户的经营模式,每年财政设立专项资金,扶持发展具有一定规模的茶叶示范园、加工龙头企业、茶叶种植示范点,积极促进茶产业科技创新,引进培育优质茶树品种,全面推广普及有机茶
