Greece is the first team in Continental Europe to qualify for the World Cup finals. When the Greek nation celebrated this historic victory, they first came to mind that the founder of the Greek national team, Alcatel Panagulitis, coached the winner. Thirty years ago, Panagulitis, 28, moved to the United States to study history at Ushsala University in New York and was also a coach of the American Greek football team. This experience made him a deep interest in football coach work. With this interest and confidence, he returned to his hometown in 1971 and has been head coach of the Greek national team since 1973. In 1980, Greece entered the finals in the qualifying of the 6th European Championships in the Soviet Union, Hungary and Finland, and in the final group stage to draw the title of the subsequent Federal Republic of Germany team, so Panagiotis was named Top ten coaches of the year
