青荚叶(Helingia japonica F.G.Dietr)亦称叶上花。属山茱萸科青荚叶属。落叶丛生灌木,高1～3米,幼枝绿色或紫绿色。叶互生,卵形至卵状椭圆形,鲜为卵状披针形;长3～13厘米,宽2～9厘米,先端渐尖,基部阔楔形,边缘具细锯齿,近基部阔有刺状锯齿。托叶钻状,边缘具睫毛,早落。雌雄异株,花缘白色。雄花序具花4～12朵,聚伞花序,有雄蕊3～5枚;雌花具短梗或近无梗,单生,或2～3朵簇生于叶面中脉中部或近基部(见1期封底照),花瓣3～5片,三角状卵形,核果近球形,具3～5棱,幼果绿色,渐老变红色,成熟后呈黑色。花期4～5月,果期8～9月。
Helingia japonica F.G. Dietr also known as leaf flowers. Is a genus of cornus Branch pod. Shrubs deciduous, 1 to 3 meters high, young branches green or purple green.
