西班牙国家铁路(RENFE)和葡萄牙国家铁路(CP)的主要指标及其机车车辆保有量情况见下表。西班牙宽轨铁路(轨距1668mm)全为国营铁路,由两国控制。从线路长度来看,在西欧占第5位。西班牙窄轨(1000mm)国营铁路不多,北部有6条,总长1148km,地中海有3条,总长141km。还有部分私营铁路。 1981年夏天国营铁路开始贯彻1992年发展规划,规则规定的总投资为12000亿比塞塔(西班牙货币名),80年代下半期西班牙铁路运输的实际投资为:1986年27900万美元,1987年62600万美元,1989年79200万美元。最近又制定了到2000年的发展规划。
The main indicators of RENFE and CP and their holdings of rolling stock are listed in the table below. The Spanish wide-gauge railway (gauge 1668 mm) is entirely state-owned and controlled by the two countries. From the length of the line, in Western Europe accounted for the first five.
