According to the latest European Pulp and Paper Industry Statistics released by the European Paper Industry Association (CEPI), the European pulp and paper production in 2012 continued to be affected by the slowdown in economic growth in 2011. It is noteworthy that its impact is still higher than other energy-intensive industries in Europe. European paper industry is seeking a good balance between supply and demand, and the increasingly modern industrial base remains competitive. The overall output performance of all CEPI member countries in 2012 is similar to that of other major paper-producing countries in the world, such as the United States, Japan and South Korea, where only China and Brazil performed better.
