Assessment of pediatric growth by age-weight alone tends to mislead tall and thin children as well-nourished while dwarfism and other children are misdiagnosed as malnourished because of their lighter body weight than their peers. In order to correct the above shortcomings, the author made weight tables of different height (length) according to the physical examination data of 39,744 healthy children aged from January to 6 in 1979 in Yangpu district of Shanghai. Where the body weight and same sex within the same height (length) range between the 10th percentile and the 90th percentile of normal, below the 10th percentile or beyond the 90th percentile were malnutrition Or obesity. In addition can still be based on their height (length) evaluation of pediatric short, medium or high. The above information is available for reference in pediatric and pediatric clinical work.
