背景据国民党的机密档案所载,1949年秋天的基隆中学《光明报》案——基隆中学校长钟浩东因在台湾秘密刊行共产党地下刊物《光明报》被国民党杀害,堪称蒋介石政权在台湾地区拉开的20世纪50年代的白色恐怖序幕。在寻访白色恐怖的民众史过程中,作者不时地听到那些政治受难人提到基隆中学校长钟浩东的名字及其悲剧性的传奇。因此,作者在被湮灭的历史中展开了“寻找钟浩东”之旅。
