Du Fu’s poem “Zhu door wine meat stink, the road has frozen dead bones ” in “smelly ” The pronunciation and meaning of the word for a long time has not been given enough attention, most read it as chòu, but I think this sound is not Du Fu’s voice is a misunderstanding of the original meaning of the work. Should read xiù, for odor solution. There are three reasons: First, from the Chinese voice changes, read xiù more in line with the reality of language applications. Second, from the perspective of poetic conception, reading xiù, when “scent” is more poetic and more realizable, can stimulate people’s imagination more, highlight the aesthetic space and induce people’s aesthetic taste. Thirdly, if you read chòu, you can interpret it as unpleasant smell or the meaning of decay and deterioration, which is not in the first place consistent with the truth of life.
