我国南方各省盛产毛竹。利用竹材编制、制作各种生产、生活用具以及精美的工艺美术品,在我国已有长久的历史。前几年,我在福建闽西山区发现当地许多的竹材和生产留下来的头头尾尾边角料,触发了我创作的欲望。竹子质地不如象牙和陶瓷那样可以自由的塑造;它有许多局限性,但同时也有自己的优点和个性。如果设计时能巧妙地加以利用和发挥其自身形象,就会化不利为有利,从而创造出很有特点的工艺品。本着上述想法制作了近二、三十种竹子动物玩具和摆设。
China’s southern provinces rich in bamboo. The use of bamboo preparation, production of various kinds of production, living utensils and exquisite arts and crafts, in our country has a long history. A few years ago, I found a lot of local bamboo in the mountainous areas of Fujian and western Fujian and left behind the head and tail scraps that triggered my desire to create. Bamboo is not as free-standing as ivory and ceramics; it has many limitations, but at the same time has its own advantages and personalities. If the design can skillfully use and give full play to its own image, it will be adverse for the benefit, thus creating a very distinctive handicrafts. In the above ideas produced nearly two, thirty kinds of bamboo animal toys and decorations.
