浸入式(Immersion)是指用第二语言作为教学语言的外语教学模式。这种模式的特点表现在英语不仅是教学的内容,也是教学的工具;认知发展和语言的发展同步进行;相信儿童具有独特的语言获得方式和学习语言的独特潜质。教学遵循英语教学与学科教学并行的原则、习得性原则、听说领先原则、全英语教学原则、活动性原则以及高“浓度”原则。以“听说领先,读写继之”为教学策略,在教学方法上提出了综合化、活动化、情景化的教学方法思路。上海的英语浸入式教学实践研究始于2002年,率先在三所幼儿园的中班和大班采用早期半浸入式英语教学研究实践,三年来该实验研究取得了明显的效果。浸入式英语教学模式教师和儿童输出的语言量、儿童语言运用的质量都明显的优于“学科”英语教学模式和“全英语课堂”英语教学模式。儿童除了在英语方面取得进步以外,其它方面如母语和认知也获得了良好的发展。
Immersion refers to the use of a second language as a language of instruction in foreign language teaching. The characteristic of this model is that English is not only the content of teaching but also the teaching tool. The development of cognition is in parallel with the development of language. It is believed that children have the unique way of acquiring languages and the unique potential of learning languages. Teaching follows the principle of parallel teaching and subject teaching, the principle of learning, the principle of listening and speaking, the principle of English teaching, the principle of activity and the principle of “concentration”. Based on the teaching strategy of “Listening and Speaking Leading, Reading and Writing Succession”, this article puts forward the idea of integrated, active and situational teaching methods. Shanghai immersion teaching practice began in 2002, taking the lead in the three classes of kindergartens and middle class early immersion English teaching practice, the experimental study has achieved remarkable results in three years. Immersion English teaching model teachers and children output the amount of language, the quality of children’s language use are obviously better than the “discipline” English teaching mode and “English class” English teaching mode. In addition to making progress in English, children have made good progress in other areas, such as mother tongue and cognition.
