As of the end of 2012, China’s car ownership reached 120 million vehicles, with an annual increase of 15.1 million vehicles. The number of cars in 18 large and medium-sized cities exceeded one million. As a newly emerging automobile power, the car ownership in our country increases year by year. According to the forecast by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, by 2020, China’s car ownership will reach 200 million vehicles. If calculated according to the prevailing scrap rates of 5% to 7% in the world, 10 million to 14 million scrap cars will be produced each year.
