Over the past 40 years, dedicated air superiority fighters have generally adopted a single seat design, while multi-purpose fighter jets have generally adopted a two-seat layout (only Lockheed Martin F-16 exceptions). For pilots, the continuous upgrading of equipment and the continuous application of new technologies is a “double-edged sword.” On the one hand, pilots’ workloads will continue to increase as new technologies continue to be used on the aircraft.
