一、前言目前一般通用电子数字计算机的指令系统中均包含了做乘法的基本操作。在解数学问题时,虽然程序中包括的乘法指令数目远比加减法指令数目为少,但由于做一次乘法时间较之做一般指令操作时间为长,故一般情况下计算机在计算问题时,大部分时间为乘法所占用。因此,提高乘法速度对于提高整个计算机的速度具有很重大意义。许多从事电子计算机的工作人员都致力于研究提高乘法速度。
