郑谷四号是以新农724为母本,安革3号为父本杂交选育而成。经省内历年多点试验,示范和大面积种植,均表现为丰产性良好,粮草兼优的品种,肥地种植一般较对照种增产22.4—32.2%。1977年巩县向阳大队50亩夏谷平均单产734斤,1979年161亩平均单产607斤。英峪大队第二生产队10亩单产达804.5斤。该品种为中熟种,夏播生育期82—96天,出苗至抽穗45—52天,抽穗至成熟38—44天。全生育期要求积温2050—2470℃。如郑州、荥阳等地丰产田积温为2250—2450℃单产750斤左右,而林县东曲大队试验田积温为2050—2120℃,单产仅300—400斤。另外苗期生长缓慢,据在郑州观察,平均每生
