新加坡政府在1997年4月份宣布,将于未来5年投资21亿新元,发展整体资讯科技教育计划。新加坡政府计划将中小学电脑的人机比例,从现在的5至6人1部增加到2002年的2人1部。新加坡现有中小学生48.9万,粗略估计,在未来5年内新加坡将增加15万部电脑。新加坡的资讯科技教育推广计划是循序渐进的。现阶段先在22所试点学校引进电脑设施,并为3000名教师提供培训计划;次阶段则将于1998年
The Singapore government announced in April 1997 that it will invest S$2.1 billion over the next five years to develop an overall IT education program. The Singapore government plans to increase the proportion of computers in primary and secondary schools from 1 to 5 now to 1 for 2 in 2002. Singapore’s existing primary and secondary school students 489,000, a rough estimate, in the next five years, Singapore will increase 150,000 computers. Singapore’s IT education promotion plan is gradual. At the current stage, computer facilities will be introduced in 22 pilot schools and 3,000 teachers will be provided with training plans. The next stage will be in 1998.
