A survey of foreign countries (about 93% of cotton mills in the United States using cotton spun in Australia) and cotton mills in Australia in 1998 showed that many Japanese spinner mix cottons from Australia with cottons from the San Joaquin Valley in the United States Spinning yarn in order to reduce production costs.
