杂文的“杂” “杂”,是杂文的本质特征。“杂”有两种涵义,包罗万象是杂,兼而有之亦是杂。杂文乃文艺性政论,一面是文艺,一面是理论,兼而有之。说它是文艺,它却发议论,阐明观点,是论说性文体;说它是理论,它又有形象,有人物,采用比兴手法,说理也不是长篇大论,而是言简意赅。杂文不是纯文学,全用形象思维,它兼有逻辑思维,但又不是小言论——这属理论范畴。它是“文学+理论”,结合部的核心是形象思维。杂文没有形象思维就不成其为杂文。
Essay “miscellaneous” “miscellaneous”, is the essential feature of essays. “Miscellaneous” has two meanings, all-encompassing, while others are mixed. Essay is literary political theory, one side is literature and art, one side is theory, both. To say that it is literature and art, but it has made comments and elucidated its point of view is to say that it is a theory of style. It is a theory. It has an image, a figure, and a more proactive approach. It is not a long story but a concise one. Essay is not pure literature, full use of image thinking, which combines both logical thinking, but not a small talk - this is a theoretical category. It is “literature + theory”, the core of the department is the image of thinking. Essay without image thinking is not as an essay.
