The authors conducted a cohort study of the mortality of 10,491 British steelmakers from 1946 to 1985. The survey respondents were all men and worked at least one year, all of whom were workers at the top ten foundries in the United Kingdom from 1946 to 1965. The results showed that the mortality rates of gastric cancer and lung cancer were significantly higher in cast steel workers than in England Tumor mortality. The expected number of gastric cancers (E) was 77.4, the number of observations (O) = 106, the standardized mortality ratio (SMR) = 137 and the lung cancer E = 229.2, O = 441, SMR = 147. However, E = 19.4, O = 10, SMR = 51. The survey also used regression models
