0 Introduction Rubber bitumen appeared in the 1950s and is a binder used in the construction of many types of flexible pavements. According to the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), rubber bitumen is made from matrix asphalt, recycled scrap tire rubbers and specialty additives through physical and chemical reactions in specialized equipment. Wherein the rubber composition accounts for at least 15% of the total mass of the mixture, the rubber particles fully react and swell in the bitumen.
