宋明远,满族,1938年生于中国辽宁,曾进修于广州美术学院国画系,现为中国美术家协会会员,中国版画家协会会员、中国年画研究会会员、日本国际现代美术家协会会员。作品曾由广东省美协画廊举办个展、深圳博物馆、艺术沙龙举办联展等多次展览,由广东省电视台拍摄并播出《大海的儿子-记画家宋明远》的专题片,国内外亦有多报刊登评介文章及发表作品。近年来,他的海·石系列书画作品流传日本、加拿大、美国及新加坡、港、台等国家和地区,其中《涛声》于日本东京都美术馆展出并获优秀作品奖,《扬波》入选《20世纪国际现代美术精品荟萃》大型彩色画册并获国际文化交流奖,《风荡水中月,浪吞海上山》获第二届世界华人艺术大奖荣誉金奖。生平传略入编《中国当代美术家人名录》、《中国当代文艺名人辞典》、《中国当代艺术名人大辞典》、《国际现代书画篆刻家大辞典》等多部艺术典籍,并获世界杰出华人艺术家、世界金奖艺术家称号。
