我省麦田叶蝉不仅种类多、分布广,而且为害程度日趋严重。叶蝉为害影响小麦植株的光合作用、养分积累和分蘖及根系的发育,还会降低小麦的抗寒性和子粒的饱满度,有些种类是小麦红矮病的传毒介体。如1989年临汾地区吉县、大宁、永和、隰县、蒲县等5县,由于条沙叶蝉的大发生,每平米方有虫1800~5400头,导致小麦红矮病的流行,发生面积18万亩,占5县麦田总面积的47.8%,减产5~8成的4.4万亩,绝收的近6万亩。1991年10月中旬我所在洪洞县左家沟调查,9月底以前种的小麦全部遭受叶蝉为害,麦苗第一、二片叶子布满了叶蝉为害后的白色斑痕,有的第一、二片叶子已干
