一 戰後美国首届普選,舉行於本月五日,其結果现已全部揭曉,共和黨獲得了决定性勝利。計在全部改選的众院中,共和党佔二百四十二席,民主黨佔一百八十三席;在三分之一議員改選的參院中,共和黨獲五十二席,民主黨獲四十三席。对於十七年來均由民主党執政的美國,這當然是一個很重大的變動;同時對於當前的世界政治,這當然也會發生相當影响。
After the First World War, the first general election of the United States was held on the 5th of this month. All the results have now been announced and the Republican Party won a decisive victory. In the total reelection, Republicans accounted for 242 seats and Democrats comprised 183 seats. In the Senate where one-third of the members were re-elected, the Republican Party received 52 seats. Democrats Won 43 seats. Of course, this is a very big change for the United States that has been under the control of the Democratic Party for 17 years. At the same time, it certainly will have a considerable impact on the current world politics.
