三寸金莲,亦称缠足,是把女子的脚用布帛缠裹起来,使其变得又小又尖,是中国封建社会的一种习俗。据目前研究成果,缠足风俗最早出现于元代,时至明清时期而达到鼎盛,甚至到了民国时代依旧存在于社会生活当中。“缠足”的风俗在中国历史上蔓延极广,历时弥久,当时地不分东西南北,人不分贫富贵贱,无处不有。此文通过对缠足风俗历史发展的总结,分析了缠足背后的思考,并从文化相对主义的角度阐述了“三寸金莲”存在与发展的存在一定的合理性。
Three-inch golden lotus, also known as foot-binding, is wrapped around the woman’s feet with cloth, making it small and sharp, a custom in Chinese feudal society. According to the present research results, the custom of footbinding first appeared in the Yuan Dynasty, reached its peak until the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and even in the Republic of China era still existed in the social life. The practice of “footbinding” has spread very extensively and lasted for a long time in China’s history. At that time, the customs of both rich and poor were everywhere and everywhere. Through the summary of the historical development of the footbinding custom, this article analyzes the thinking behind the footbinding and expounds the rationality of the existence and development of “Three-inch Golden Lotus ” from the perspective of cultural relativism.
