Methods Epidemiological data of HIV / AIDS in Huzhou from 1998 to 2012 were collected and analyzed by descriptive epidemiological method. Results The first case of HIV infection was found in Huzhou City in 1998. A total of 380 HIV / AIDS cases were reported in 2012, with a sex ratio of 3.2: 1. Sexual transmission was the main route of transmission (82.6%). The age of infection was 20 ~ 49 years old (83.4%); married accounted for 54.0%; the city’s household registration accounted for 36.1%, other provinces accounted for 60.0%; occupations distribution to workers (including migrant workers) up to 31.8%, followed by farmers (29.2% 79.3% had junior high school education level or below; and the most preoperative examination was from medical institutions, accounting for 24.4%. Sexual transmission continued to be the main route of transmission in Huzhou since 2007, while the composition ratio of injecting drugs showed a downward trend. In the past three years, the proportion of transmission by sexual partners among men who have sex with men increased significantly. Conclusion The epidemic situation of AIDS in Huzhou is on the rise. Sexual transmission has become the main approach. The prevalence of MSM is rapidly rising. HIV / AIDS awareness and education needs to be strengthened in key populations. It is suggested that an early detection and early treatment strategy should be piloted to control the epidemic Further rise.
