这次全国重点中学工作会议,是建国以来的第一次。这次会议是在新的历史条件下召开的。召开这次会议的目的,是为了更好地贯彻中央关于办好重点学校的指示,尽快提高教育质量,适应社会主义现代化建设的需要。这次会议,交流了办好重点中学的经验,分析研究了存在的问题,明确了办学思想,讨论了办重点中学的规划和措施,达到了予期的目的。我想就会议讨论的一些重要问题,讲几点意见。一、在新的历史时期,办好重点中学具有重要的战略意义办好重点中学,是党和政府历来一贯的重要决策。 1953年,毛主席提出要办重点中学。1959年,周总理在二届人大会议上提出:“在各级全日制的正规学校中,应该把提高教学质量,作为一个经常的基本任务,而且应当首先集中较大
The national key middle school work conference was the first one since the founding of the People’s Republic. The meeting was held under the new historical conditions. The purpose of convening this meeting is to better implement the instructions of the Central Government on running key schools and to improve the quality of education so as to meet the needs of socialist modernization. The meeting exchanged experiences of running key middle schools, analyzed and studied existing problems, clarified the idea of running a school, discussed plans and measures for running key middle schools, and achieved the intended purpose. I would like to make a few comments on some important issues discussed at the meeting. First, in the new historical period, it is of strategic importance to run key middle schools well. To run key middle schools well is a consistent and important policy decision made by the party and the government. In 1953, Chairman Mao proposed to set up a key middle school. In 1959, Premier Chou proposed at the Second National People’s Congress: "At all levels of full-time regular schools, improving teaching quality should be a regular and basic task,
