电气化工程局是我国专门从事电气化铁路设计、施工和专用工业器材生产的综合性专业工程局。它包括牵引供电、接触网、通信信号、电力照明、机务供电、电气化干扰防护和土房建等9种专业。该局现有职工15,000人,拥有固定资产2.1亿元,流动资金1.7亿元,施工机械设备1390台(其中大中型设备657台),具有一年可完成800—1000km电气化铁路的综合设计施工能力。该局创建于1958年。30多年来,先后建成开通了宝成、阳安、襄渝、石太、陇兰、丰沙大、京秦、贵昆线贵水段、太焦线长月段、陇海线郑洛段和三孟段、北同蒲、鹰厦线来漳段、衡广线坪韶段和大秦线西段等电气化铁路,共计
