1914 The Church of the United States established an additional branch of agriculture at Jinling University in Nanjing, followed by a department of agriculture specialized in Nanjing Normal University (renamed as Agricultural Science of Southeast University in 1920 and the Central College of Agriculture in 1928). Before 1913, some of the earliest agricultural schools in China focused on imparting books to students with little research and promotion.
