糖高粱是糖、粮、草三栖,高产、高值的粮食、能源作物。在当前世界能源紧张的情况下,用糖高粱秆生产酒精作为再生能源已引起世界各国重视,美国、日本、巴西等国均有用糖高粱秆制取酒精作为汽车代用燃料的例子。1990年我厅把“糖高粱综合开发利用研究”列入技术开发项目,三年来,研究人员通过种植、加工、深层次开发,使糖高粱综合开发利用形成了一套完整的模式,即:制种 Sugar sorghum is sugar, grain, grass, amphibious, high yield, high value of food, energy crops.
