传说吐蕃王松赞干布有一次久病不愈,百药无效,忽见一只神鸟叨着一片树叶飞到窗边,一阵风把树叶吹到松赞干布的碗里,松赞干布喝了浸泡了树叶的水后,顿觉神清气爽,大病痊愈。遂派人追踪神鸟至雅州(雅安),寻得蒙顶仙茶,从此“茶”就成了藏民族不可或缺的神圣饮品。西藏地处高原,气候干燥,缺少蔬菜,藏族却不缺维生素,原来高原人从藏茶里吸取到多种维生素。藏族人喝酥油茶和奶茶,一日无数次,“宁可三日无粮,不可一日无茶”,既是饮品又是食品,据统计西藏人人均消费茶叶超过10公斤,真是世界饮茶之冠。
