美国空军研制成功“先进中程空空导弹”(AIM-120)之后,一直在探索未来新一代空空导弹技术,并提出双射程导弹(DRM)新概念。所谓双射程导弹就是既可近距格斗又能超视距拦截目标的空空导弹,兼备近距格斗空空导弹和超视距拦截空空导弹的双重功能。美空军认为,双射程导弹在空战交换比、飞机装载灵活性、武器系统的后勤保障和全寿命费用等方面具有明显的优势,代表着下一代空空导弹的发展方向。目前,美国空军莱特实验室正在进行概念设计和关键技术研究,为研制作技术准备。
After the successful development of the Advanced Mid-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AIM-120), the United States Air Force has been exploring the next generation of air-to-air missile technology and has proposed a new concept of dual-range missile (DRM). The so-called dual-range missiles are close combat but also beyond the horizon to intercept the target of air-to-air missiles, both short-range combat air-to-air missiles and over-the-air interceptor SAM dual function. The U.S. Air Force believes that the dual-range missiles have obvious advantages in terms of air-to-air exchange ratio, flexibility in loading aircraft, logistics support for weapon systems and life-cycle costs, and represent the development direction of the next generation of air-to-air missiles. At present, the Wright Laboratory of the United States Air Force is conducting concept design and key technology research to prepare for the research and development.
