加拿大当代小说家大卫·伯根(David Bergen)出生于1957年,是位来自加拿大西部草原的作家,早年毕业于温尼伯的红河学院,做过中学教师,曾经在加拿大久负盛名的洛基山脉班夫艺术中心教授创作。伯根的父亲是位门诺教派的牧师,而伯根也曾经生活在具有门诺教派传统的莱塞镇,门诺教的宗教传统不但深刻影响了伯根日后的创作,其生活的以门诺教为主的莱塞镇也成为他小说中的重要地理景观原型。伯根几度前往南亚地区,包括越南、泰国等地,不但从南亚地区的很多艺术中汲取创作养分,丰富的生活经历也使其创作视野更为开阔。
Canadian contemporary novelist David Bergen was born in 1957 and is a writer from western Canada’s steppe. He graduated from Red River College in Winnipeg early in his career as a middle school teacher. He was previously a member of Canada’s prestigious Rocky Mountains Banff Arts Center Professor creation. Burgundy’s father is a Mennonite pastor, and Burgundy once lived in Leicesay town with the tradition of Mennonites, Mennonite religious traditions not only profoundly influenced the future of Burgen’s creation, the life of Mennon Leisai town, which is mainly composed of teaching, also became the prototype of the important geographical landscape in his novels. Burgen several times to South Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand and other places, not only from South Asia to absorb the creative arts of many arts, rich life experience also make its creative vision more open.
