油气区域勘探研究是一项系统工程,包括盆地分析与评价、含油气系统分析与评价、区带和圈闭分析与评价、油气藏描述与评价以及对以上诸过程进行动态管理的资源序列研究.盆地分析包括地层发育史、构造发展史、沉积演化史和热史,盆地评价的主要内容是烃源岩.含油气系统研究内容主要包括烃源岩、储层、盖层和上覆层等4项静态要素,以及油气生成与运聚的过程,其关键问题是生烃凹陷的生烃量和圈闭的聚集量.区带分析是对有成因关系的圈闭带进行分析.圈闭分析与评价包括地质分析、工程地质分析和经济评价.油气藏描述是对油气田的构造、储层岩性和物性、油气分布等进行描述与评价,贯穿圈闭预探到探明油气田的全过程.资源序列包括推测资源量、潜在资源量、预测储量、控制储量和探明储量的计算以及确定它们之间合理的资源潜力比.
