二氧化鈾在鈾冶炼工艺过程中为一重要产物。其放置于含氧气氛中会部分氧化,测定它的四价和六价鈾相对含量是具有实际意义的。因为不論是直接使用或是作为制备其他鈾化物的原料,都需要知道这一数值。文献介紹直接測定混合鈾氧化物中二氧化物的方法很少,在一个样品中測定四价鈾同时亦能测定六价鈾的方法更为罕見。一般都是分别取样品測定后再計算它們的相对含量。例如文献[1]介紹了用磷酸溶解,亚鉄灵作指示剂,重鉻酸鉀标准液滴定
