舒位入黔从戎,得江山之助,以性灵之笔写西南地理特点和自己行走其间的特殊感受,借助诗画名家、名作、名句描绘西南山水,善造幽深空遂之境。以对比、夸张、想象等多样手法,穷形尽相描绘西南之山峻水险。以文化之眼关照西南山水,既摹写了山水的情态,增加了山水的深厚历史、文化内涵,又在其中倾注了自己的真情实感,是清中叶性灵诗的重要组成部分。
