The question of the classification of Chinese sentences has not been determined in the grammar community. The following are some of the common points. Mr. Wang Li (1), author of “Chinese Modern Grammar” and “Compendium of Chinese Grammar,” divides sentences into three categories: 1. Narrative sentences with verbs as the backbone; 2. Descriptive sentences with Adjectives are the backbone; 3. Judgment sentences, with nouns as the backbone. Mr. Li Jinxi, the author of “The New Country Language Law,” divided his sentences into three types of four-body in his recent “Chinese Grammar Tutorial”. The so-called three categories are narrative sentences, judgment sentences and description sentences. The so-called “four-body” is a judgment sentence and a descriptive sentence, which is divided into three parts according to whether there are objects or not.
