A maneuvering laser tracking system that performs rigorous analysis of the in-flight performance of the aircraft has been delivered by FAA to General Electric and the Greek branch of the company Herzegovina. This device, called a precision auto-tracking system, enables real-time position measurement, which is faster and less expensive than a photographic system. It will be used at the FAA’s National Aeronautical Facilities Experiment Center to support the flight test program. The plan includes a test and certification landing system, a regional navigation system, and a collision avoidance system.
