文化在外语教学中的作用越来越受到外语教师的重视,外语教师不仅要教授语言本身,还需使学生了解文化,提高文化交际能力。教师观念的改变很大程度上决定了外语教学的成功与否。本研究通过问卷调查西部某大学大学英语教师对其职业的自我认识,对大学英语教学注重文化教学及提高文化交际能力的观点,及对大学英语教学目的的认识。研究结果表明被试教师对文化教学的认识与教学观有密切关系,反映了他们的期望。调查对大学英语教学具有一定的启发意义。
The role of culture in foreign language teaching is increasingly valued by foreign language teachers. Foreign language teachers should not only teach the language itself, but also make students understand the culture and enhance the ability of cultural communication. The change of teachers’ ideas largely determines the success of foreign language teaching. This study investigates the self-awareness of college English teachers in a certain university in western China by questionnaire, the view that college English teaching emphasizes on culture teaching and enhancing the ability of cultural communication, and the understanding of the purpose of college English teaching. The research results show that the tested teachers’ understanding of culture teaching is closely related to the teaching concept, reflecting their expectations. The investigation has some enlightenment significance to college English teaching.
