高分子涂层是近年来在机械制造、机械修理业中,迅速发展起来的一项新材料、新技术。它把单一材料的机械零件转变为复合材料结构,以金属为基体(对机械修理来说,基体就是需要修复的磨损零件)来承受零件的设计强度,以高分子材料的涂层为表面来改善零件的耐磨性、抗腐蚀性和防震性。在学习了国内外有关资料以后,根据机车车辆运用的特点,研制了高分子涂层材料和工艺,先后在十一种有代表性的蒸汽机车磨损和腐蚀零部件或部位,进行高分子涂层的运用试验(参阅表1)。其中胜利型机车的导轮转向架构架与横梁的接触面,解放型机车从轮弹簧座与车架的接触面,用高分子涂层修复后均已安全运用了一个厂修期,状况完好。
