鲁南沿海地区地表约70%以上为中、上更新统及全新统地层所覆盖。其主要成因类型有残积、坡积、冲积、海积以及它们之问的混合类型。第四系总厚度仅有30—40m,地层分布具有明显的东西向的分带性,而南北方向上差异较小。本区古地理的演变过程是:由更新世的陆地环境,经过全新世的海侵,变为现今的滨海环境。古气候则由中更新世的湿热,经过晚更新世的干凉和全新世的温暖期,形成现代温暖的海洋性气候。
About 70% of the surface of the coastal area of Lunan is covered by Meso-Upper Pleistocene and Holocene strata. The main types of genesis are residual types, slope products, alluvial deposits, sediments and mixtures of these types. Quaternary total thickness of only 30-40m, stratum distribution has obvious east-west zonality, while the difference is small in the north-south direction. The evolution of paleogeography in this area is that from the Pleistocene terrestrial environment, through the transgression of the Holocene, it becomes the present coastal environment. Paleoclimate was dominated by the mid-Pleistocene damp heat, after the late Pleistocene dry cool and Holocene warm period, forming a modern warm maritime climate.
