1958年6月,北京天桥剧场。舞乐悠扬,纯洁美丽的“白天鹅”在舞台中央翩翩起舞……新中国排演的第一部世界经典芭蕾舞剧《天鹅湖》在此首次公演。1964年9月,同样是北京天桥剧场。一群穿短裤、球鞋,舞刀弄枪的女兵走上舞台,起初还是立正稍息,很快竟变成了芭蕾舞的脚势。拿着刀枪的足尖舞在这里精彩表演,引起轰动。这就是新中国第一个现代芭蕾舞剧《红色娘子军》的演出现场。中国芭蕾舞坛“起飞”的第一只“白天鹅”奥杰塔,就是现代芭蕾舞剧
