Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients, such as HIV-infected individuals. Previous studies have shown that oral infection in HIV-infected patients is closely related to CMV. The authors further study the relationship between abnormalities of salivary glands and CMV in HIV-infected individuals. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirteen patients with HIV infection, accompanied by symptoms of xerostomia, decreased salivary gland flow rate (UMSF≤0.65 ml / 5 min in non-stimulated mixed salivary gland), and HIV-infected controls without oral dryness were included in the study. UMSF normal, 1.5ml / min. Virus culture, multi-enzyme chain reaction (PCR) and tissue virology detection technology, determination of salivary gland, outside
