在六朝古都南京,名胜古迹数不胜数,而最著名的陵墓建筑当属明孝陵。中国建筑学会中国史学会副会长刘叙杰说:“明孝陵代表着明初皇家建筑的艺术成就,是中国陵墓建筑和陵墓文化的缩影。”明孝陵坐落在南京市紫金山南麓独龙阜玩珠峰,东毗中山陵,南临梅花山,是南京最大的帝王陵墓,中国最大帝王陵寝之一,它代表了明初建筑和石刻艺术的最高成就,直接影响了明清两代500多年的帝王陵寝的形制,故有“明清皇家第一陵”的美誉。
