单晶磁铁硬度高、脆性大、切削性能差,用刀具难以加工,用电解法或电化学法加工生产率不高,精度也低。由于上述原因国外研究制造了加工Φ4~Φ6mm孔的钻头,钻头用YG8硬质合金做成整体式(见附图),也可以用YG6或YG8硬质合金片做成镶装式。鉴于在加工中出口和入口容易造成破裂(出口特别大),所以在钻削加工中工件两端面采用金属垫圈消除这个缺陷,加工之前把垫圈紧压在磁铁的上下两端
