The article reviews the progress of cognitive neuroscience research on category learning. Cognitive neuroscience models for category learning include sample models, prototype models, boundary models, SUSTAIN and COVIS models, research paradigms including rule-based paradigms, weather forecasting paradigms, and prototyping paradigms. Cognitive neuroscience category learning studies revealed the neural mechanism of category learning and found that category learning was co-regulated by different nervous systems and that different brain regions were responsible for different categories of learning. Cognitive neuroscience category study revealed the physiological mechanism of learning deficits in patients with different neurological diseases, providing important implications for clinical medical rehabilitation.
