古往今来,人们对家庭下过许多各不相同的定义,家庭的内涵与外延也在变化。在中国权威的《辞海》与《现代汉语词典》中,家庭的定义基本相同,即家庭是以婚姻和血缘关系为基础的社会生活组织形式;在韦伯斯特大字典中,家庭被定义为“由居住在同一屋檐下的一家人组成”,确是够形象了;我国著名的社会学家邓伟志却简明地指出,血缘(姻缘)+经济=家庭,他认为,从现代家庭形态来看,血缘(姻缘)关系与经济关系构成了家庭
