Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of self-made traditional Chinese medicine anti-angina pectoris combined with conventional western medicine in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris. Methods: 328 patients were randomly divided into two groups. 216 cases in the treatment group were treated with self-made anti-angina pectoris prescription combined with conventional western medicine. In the control group, 112 cases were treated with conventional western medicine alone. The clinical symptoms, electrocardiogram curative effect and side effects of 2 groups were observed. Results: The total effective rate was 85.19% in the treatment group and 57.14% in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). The total effective rate of electrocardiogram was 51.85% in the treatment group and 39.29% in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). The total number of chest pain, the total time of chest pain, and the total nitroglycerin consumption of the two groups improved after treatment, which were significantly different from those before treatment (P <0.05). The indicators of two groups after treatment, the differences were significant (P <0.05). After treatment, total ST segment and total T wave decreased in both groups, with significant difference (P <0.05) compared with those before treatment. After treatment, total ST and total T wave were significantly different between the two groups (P <0.05). The incidence of side effects was 17.59% in the treatment group and 30.36% in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). Conclusion: Self-made traditional Chinese medicine anti-angina pectoris combined with conventional western medicine for the treatment of unstable angina is satisfactory, with fewer side effects than western medicine alone.
